Introduction

In this short series of articles I am going to concentrate on the download, installation and configuration of the Apache Web Server and associated programs (PHP/ MYSQL/ AWStats/ ActivePerl). Using the latest versions available at the time of writing and using the 'get it working' approach , for those that , like me, they want the program to work first, so it can be configured to suit afterwards.

These miniTutorials are created and presented in a logical order. What follows is how I install these programs (Services) to my circumstances. Whatever yours are, I still believe the order in which these tutorials are presented, is the best way to install and to get a grip with these programs.

The tutorials, although independant of each other, follow a similar pattern in that file and directory (folder) structure as recommended, are linked throughout the whole series. I therfore urge you to follow the tutorials in the order listed below. The choice is yours.
